It's Been a While

It's been a while since I have posted anything jewelry or essential oil related. 

Did you miss me?

Many things have been going on - besides life, work and home - I've had a few jewelry/craft events, last one being the Capital City Bike Fest.  We had a great time, and I did fairly well - they say that if you make back the cost of the table, you have success.  We had success.  My glitter pendants were a popular item, so I recently made more, with some in Fall colors.

KiperCreations is starting to take off!

Near and dear to my heart is the making of one-of-a-kind jewelry that I put up for sale. 

Why?

Because it is the only way I know to help raise money for the American Cancer Society, while spreading cheer, jewels and glitter.

I started out necklaces and bracelets out of strung beads and gemstones.  When I was laid off 2 years ago, I branched out to beaded bracelets (you know the kind - that are sewn, bead by bead).  It was relaxing, and kept my hands from being idle.

I have recently branched out again to making glitter pendants, earrings and rings.  I absolutely LOVE the way the glitter sparkles and shimmers different colors depending on the light source and angle of the piece.

In the near future, I will be opening a shop on Amazon - in their new division Homemade at Amazon.  This is very exciting for me!  I still have my Etsy shop, and try to put items on there as I can. I post to Instagram and Facebook all the time.  I donated several items to a group who sends out sample boxes to their subscribers.  Even tho my pieces are not samples, they are the first jewelry pieces that the group has received, and they were very excited to have me on board.  Soon, KiperCreations will be shipped across the states and to countries abroad!

In the meantime... I'm still promoting the fabulous health benefits essential oils, doTERRA all the way BABY!  Just recently gave a sample of On Guard to someone I work with who was going to have to be home taking care of sick children.  I told him to put one drop of On Guard in a carrier oil (like coconut oil) and rub it on their feet. This was Monday.  He told me today that both his children are doing better and he attributes their wellness to the oil.

Great news!  Love these kind of testimonials!

If you haven't tried essential oils, why not?  It's not just a fad, it's getting back to nature and helping your body and overall health without chemicals.

Hand Lotion, Side by Side Comparison, First Round

Ok, anyone who really knows me knows that I always have hand lotion of some kind near me. My hands are always dry! I wash my hands, my skin dries out. I look at toast and my skin dries out.
I have been using doTERRA's Hand & Body lotion for several months now, and I really like it. It's unscented and can be used with any of my doTERRA essential oils.
Enter Melaleuca.com.
They offer a lotion called Renew. It is "Intensive Skin Therapy". I decided, why not? I'll give it a try.
I put a small pea-size dab on my left hand and rubbed it in. I did the same with my trusty doTERRA lotion on my right hand.

Five minutes later....
I touch my left hand (Renew) - super soft, and feels moisturized.
I touch my right (doTERRA) - soft, but feels a little dry.

What!!??!!

I'm going to slather the Renew on my arms and see how long the softness last.

Long Time No Post!

Ok - something different then...

How about a few recipes for around the house or office, or just "I need this" using essential oils?  Surely we could all use recipes!  

Granted, mixing up concoctions may take some prep work, but when you think about the health of your family, friends and coworkers - it really is worth the time and effort you put into it.  They only take a few minutes each. 

*Recipes are my concoctions unless otherwise noted - feel free to adjust as needed*

Around the House -

Bathroom spray
2oz glass spray bottle  
30 drops Purify
15 drops White Fir
5 drops Cypress
10 drops Wild Orange
topped with Witch Hazel

Counter-top Disinfectant Spray
16oz glass spray bottle (I used a recycled Apple Cider Vinegar bottle)
20 drops (total) On Guard and/or Lemon
Liquid Dish Detergent (we use Dawn)
Fill bottle with half inch worth of liquid dish detergent 
Add drops of EO
Top bottle with white distilled vinegar.  Shake before use.

After a Day Out in the Sun -

After-Sun Serum
2 oz glass bottle with lid
10 drops Helichrysum
10 drops Geranium
1 tsp Vitamin E oil
Topped with Coconut oil

After-Sun Spray

An Herbal "Bomb" for Good Health!

Today I had to call customer support because I accidentally double ordered Oregano (I don't always have sharp moments), and though I couldn't change my order, I spoke with the young lady on the phone and we discussed back and forth about some of the different uses for various oils and oil products we have in our personal collection. 

I recently purchased a different oil supplement called Mito2Max - I'm hoping it will boost my energy levels and keep me awake during the day in lieu of seeking out chocolate or sugary sweets or even coffee.  I can't handle much caffeine so I am always seeking out alternative energy sources.  She takes DDR Prime for energy and cellular health.  (I'll keep you posted on this new product).

We got to talking about why I ordered the Oregano in the first place... It's great for clearing up congestion, great for colds, and just an all-round fabulous immune booster. I've started using it in something I have dubbed my "Herbal Bomb".  Well, that peeked her curiosity so I told her about why I combine the oils that I do and started taking this every day.  I'll pass that info on to you, the person reading this, in case you are interested in getting the oils and trying this for yourself.

The recipe I use is 2 drops each of Oregano, Basil, Rosemary, Marjoram, and Thyme in a gel capsule, once a day.
